History

2002

In May 2002, Clermont Levasseur and his family members acquire the totality of the capital-shares of BGR Tools inc., a Quebec company that has more than thirty years of expertise in the manufacturing specialized tools mainly for the forest industry.

In July 2002, the new company form an association with a strategic financial partner, Le Fonds de Solidarité du Québec, to accelerate the development and the growth of the company.


2003

In November 2003, after having acquired the FOR-MIN Group, composed of Industry Guérette and of Canvic, the company regroupe all activities under the same banner of DK-SPEC inc.

Since 2002, more than 10 million dollars have been invested in equipment to improve the manufacturing processes. A research and development program has been put in place to develop new products and to upgrade the resistance to shock of the materials. This program has required an investment of more than one million dollars per year for the past three years.


2007

In 2007, all divisions of DK-SPEC are grouped under the same roof. The company build an ultramodern, high-tech factory of 50,000 square feet. In the future, the product lines will be classified according to trademark:

  • BGR Tools, manufacturing of tools and custom knives;
  • Formin, product distribution;
  • Nordik Saw, custom band saws and circular saws;
  • Guérette, planers parts and retrofit;
  • Timberfox, debarker parts and equipment;
  • Filex, specialized grinder.
